What Browser-Only Processing Means for Privacy
A plain-language guide to local processing, downloads and the limits of privacy claims.
A browser-only tool runs code on your device and can avoid sending a file to a server. That is useful, but privacy also depends on the page, third-party scripts and what you do with the downloaded result.
Look for a clear explanation
A trustworthy tool should say what is processed locally and what network requests it makes. Do not describe a tool as “private” without defining the boundary.
Avoid sensitive uploads
If a task needs a server, do not upload identity documents or confidential files unless you understand the provider and retention policy.
Check the output
A converted file may retain metadata such as a camera location or author name. Inspect the result when metadata matters.
Use the related browser tools as a quick check, then verify the result for your own workflow.
